Our new Vertical Machining Centre arrives

As announced in April, Torqueleader took delivery at the beginning of July of a new state-of-the-art Mazak Vertical Machining Centre. The purchase of this high productivity machine is part of our continuing programme of investment to ensure that Torqueleader remains at the forefront of torque tool technology.

The VCS530C, manufactured in Worcester in the UK, has twice the spindle speed of its replacement, and is able to rotate the part in order to machine on all four facings. It will initially be used to produce castings for our large dial wrenches, and will give us increased versatility to meet our customer needs. The photograph shows our machine arriving at the factory.

Joe Ellera, Production Director, remembers purchasing its predecessor, which has given Torqueleader sterling service for many years, and is confident that the new machine will prove even more effective. It had a three day period of installation to ensure optimum utilisation and is now fully operational.
