The next generation in our torque analyser range

The next generation in our torque analyser range

In January 2017 GTL will be launching the Capture Hub, the latest addition to its world class Capture system range of torque analysers, and we'd like to whet your appetite by telling you a bit about it.

The Capture system came to the market 3 years ago, leading the way in the introduction of electronic torque analysers and very popular with our customers and distributors due to its superior accuracy, flexibility and efficiency. Users can download test results, test power tools, select different units of measurement and carry out calibration well beyond the scope of mechanical calibration devices.

We designed and tested it in conjunction with the UK's renowned National Physical Laboratory, a world leader in electronic systems.

We have been working hard on the design of the next generation of this tool family which is the Capture Hub. This is a lineside power tool torque analyser aimed primarily at the industrial power tool market, and it can be used as a stand alone piece of equipment or in conjunction with the Capture system. It has all the advantages of the current Capture display with regard to storing data, will work with any hand or power tool, and is exceptionally accurate, reliable and intuitive.

The Capture Hub has an integrated sensor with three torque range options from 0.2 N.m. to 25 N.m. It will also be sold with a rundown fixture for the torque testing of power tools. It has an external port for plugging in an additional size sensor if required and can be used with a wide range of tools. It also has a longer battery life and improved screen visibility.

We are anticipating plenty of interest from in-house calibration laboratories as well as general industrial use once our latest product is on the market. The design process is largely completed, prototypes have been manufactured, and currently an extensive programme of testing is underway to ensure that every possible issue is resolved.

GTL Research and Development Manager Peter Shafe, (pictured working on the Capture Hub), who has been most heavily involved in the project, said "we're very excited about the launch of the Capture Hub at the beginning of next year and we're looking forward to demonstrating its considerable potential to all our customers and distributors."

We will be keeping you up to date with the Capture Hub's progress over the next six months up to the launch date, both in our website news section and in our subsequent newsletters. If you would like to know more in the meantime, please contact salesandrepairs@gedore-torque.com
