Visit to Myanmar

Sales and Marketing Director Bob Little and Technical Manager David Broadhead have recently returned from a successful trip to Myanmar. Formerly known as Burma, Myanmar borders India, Bangladesh, China, Laos and Thailand and the largest city is Yangon, formerly known as Rangoon. In one of his very rare moments off, David took the photo on the front cover of the newsletter, which is the Schwedagon Pagoda. This is a sacred Buddhist site which enshrines strands of the Buddha's hair and other relics, and consists of hundreds of colourful temples, stupas and statues. It's covered in gold, with 4531diamonds encrusting the top, the largest of which is 72 carats.

The aim of the visit to Myanmar was to develop further Torqueleader's sales network in this part of Asia, and seek a distributor for the company's tools in a market which is rapidly expanding, not least due to motor manufacturers such as Nissan and Honda setting up production plants locally. Bob and David showcased Torqueleader's products at the Manufacturing 2015 Myanmar exhibition in Yangon and received plenty of interest as well as making some useful contacts in the area. They had quite a challenging time setting up the stand as this took place in a temperature of 35 degrees with no air conditioning! The bottom photo shows the exhibition opening ceremony.

Bob and David then travelled on to meetings in Bangkok, Thailand, with Torqueleader's distributor in the area, Radical Torque Solutions. David is pictured in the top photo with Chalermlap Na Lamphoon of Radical Torque Solutions.
